Glasgow Theatre Breaks
Glasgow's theatres range from the small and historical Glasgow Pavillion,
to larger, more modern venues such as the Royal concert hall (home
of the Scottish opera).
Visitors to Glasgow will find a wealth of first class performing arts
available year-round in the region. From Ballet to Classical, Opera
to Pantomime, Stand-up to Symphony - there truly is something for
everyone. The Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama is Scotland's
conservatoire for music and drama and the building is also fully equipped
as an arts centre and conference venue. Glasgow's International Jazz
festival, one of the UK's finest, plays host to many great names in
Jazz as well as promoting popular and accessible free and paid concerts
in a wide range of music styles.
Scottish classical music is also well represented by the Royal Concert
Hall at with the biggest event being on the 22nd November 1993 when,
for the first time ever, the Scottish orchestras played together;
the RSNO, the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, the Scottish Opera
Orchestra, and the Scottish Chamber Orchestra.
